Student Devices

AACPS currently uses a hybrid computing environment with students based on programmatic needs.

For families wishing to purchase a device for home use by their students, please be advised that these specifications may change based on evolving programmatic needs.

In support of Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Strategic Plan, we are committed to providing all students with the resources they need to succeed and embody the Portrait of a Graduate.

Students in Pre-K to 8th grade will utilize Chromebooks in the schoolhouse. If your student needs a device at home, you may apply for a loaner Chromebook through the Student Device Loaner Program below.

AACPS Student Device Loaner Program - PreK-8th grade

Registration for the AACPS Student Device Loaner Program, which provides a device to students that need a device to support learning at home, is now available. If approved for participation in the program, students will be assigned a Chromebook that will need to be transported back and forth between home and school as it will be used by the student throughout the school day. Complete information about the program can be found at www.aacps.org/deviceloanerprogram.

Students that received a device through the Student Device Loaner Program last year and kept their device over the summer do not need to reapply for a device for the 25-26 school year.

AACPS Chromebook 1:1 - Grades 9 and 12

Students in 9th and 12th grades will keep their Chromebooks.

Student Laptop Program - Grades 10 and 11

In January of 2026 all grade 10 and 11 students will return their Chromebooks to their home school and will be issued a HP Elitebook 6.
