The goal of the Anne Arundel County Infants and Toddlers Program (ITP) is to provide support and services to infants and toddlers with delays/disabilities to help them reach their potential and be prepared for school. The Anne Arundel County ITP is a family-centered program serving children birth through two years of age who reside in Anne Arundel County and meet state requirements.

Early Intervention services are outlined in Individualized Family Support Plans (IFSP). These services are provided by a team of special education professionals and are designed to build the capacity of parents and caregivers through a family coaching interaction style.

The process of receiving ITP services begins with a referral. A referral may be made by anyone who suspects that a child may have special needs, a delay in development or a disability.

This can be done by:

  • Completing an online referral

  • Calling the Anne Arundel County Infants & Toddlers Program at 410-424-3260

Parents, family members, guardians, physicians, childcare or preschool providers, or staff members from community agencies may refer a child if they have concerns about a child's development in any of these areas:

  • Communication/Language: understanding and communicating with others

  • Fine Motor: i.e. pinching food, grasping for toys, moving toys from one hand to another

  • Gross Motor: i.e. rolling, sitting up, crawling, walking, Torticollis

  • Social-Emotional/Behavior: feeling, coping, getting along with others

  • Sensory: Hearing

  • Sensory: Vision

  • Cognitive: Thinking and learning

  • Adaptive: Doing things for themselves
