In 2022, the Maryland State Department of Education adopted a new set of Digital Learning Standards for students. They are designed to ensure that students are college and career ready, have equitable access to resources, are provided learning opportunities to meet their individual needs, and become responsible digital citizens.
Instructional Technology
In a classroom with effective technology integration, students will be empowered, using a variety of digital resources to construct knowledge, to solve problems, communicate creatively, and to collaborate with others, both in their classroom and globally. All virtual classrooms live in Brightspace, AACPS's learning management system. Along with Brightspace, students have access to Google Workspace for Education applications (ex. Docs, Slides, Drawings) as well as other programs such as Wixie, WeVideo, Adobe Express, and Lumio by SMART.
Classlink provides an easy access for students to AACPS web resources. Once logged into Classlink, users do not have to enter sign-in information for other applications supported by AACPS, unless necessary for security reasons.
