The Board of Education has appointed 13 new members to Its 34-member countywide Citizen Advisory Committee, a panel that provides input and advice on specific issues surrounding education throughout the county. The appointees, approved at the Board’s July 17, 2024, meeting, are:

Glen Burnie Cluster, Elementary Representative: Monica Czubba
North County Cluster, Elementary Representative: Janica Johnson
North County Cluster, Secondary Representative: Jason Whetzel
Northeast Cluster, Secondary Representative: Ted Anderson
Old Mill Cluster, Elementary Representative: Ashley Armstead
Severn Run Cluster, Elementary Representative: Eugenio Matias Perez

The Board is accepting applications for the following positions:

The CAC includes two representatives from each of the 14 high school clusters, one representing elementary schools and one representing secondary schools, two at-large representatives, and three respective representatives from the Anne Arundel County Council of PTAs, Special Education Advisory Committee, and Parent Involvement Advisory Council, and one military representative.
Applications for the three vacant positions, which can be found here, must be received at the Board of Education by 4 p.m. on July 31, 2024. At a subsequent meeting, the Board will appoint representatives to these positions.
The committee is required to meet at least four times a year, but typically meets seven times annually. Meetings are generally held at the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis. The meetings and membership in the CAC are open to anyone, regardless of whether they have children in AACPS or not.
