Just a reminder that schools will be closed next week due to parent-teacher conferences on Monday and Tuesday, followed by the Thanksgiving holiday.
If you have not yet scheduled a conference time, please reach out to your child’s teacher. You can find their email addresses at the following link: https://www.aacps.org/o/woodsidees/page/faculty-staff. We look forward to seeing you for conferences on Monday. Please remember to bring your ID when checking in.
Additionally, there was a survey sent out earlier this week. If you haven’t had the chance, we’d appreciate it if you could take a minute or two to complete it. Your feedback is invaluable. Parent Survey
Lastly, our classroom is running low on tissues and hand sanitizer. If you’re able to contribute, we would be very grateful for donations of either item to help keep our students healthy.
We hope you enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday filled with time spent with family and friends.
Thank you for your support!

Dear Parent/ Guardian/ Caregiver,
The WES Attendance Team wanted to share and celebrate a 1st quarter accomplishment with you. We want to also be sure you are aware of the brag tag recognition your child will soon receive and the Wellness Wednesday raffle drawings initiative.
Our student attendance has consistently been 94% for the first quarter this year! This is exciting and remaining above 90% is an accomplishment, however our goal is to be at 95% schoolwide.
Let's continue to work together to ensure our students are punctual, present, and engaged. November has 14 learning days and December has 15 learning days. Your goal should be for your student not to miss more than 2 school days in the 29 days. In collaboration with our Community Schools blueprint grant and community partners, we are happy to conduct a raffle each Wednesday. Students' families who have not missed more than 2 days during this time will be entered into a drawing to receive a $25 food gift card or family game basket.
If you ever have any questions regarding your student's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Paris at 410-582-4100. If you need support reaching these goals, please reach out to Mrs. Pearsell, Community Schools Program Manager at 410-570-2396 /mcolletonpearsell@aacps.org or Mrs. Betz, School Social Worker at ebetz@aacps.org.
Best Regards,
WES Attendance Team

Exciting Partnerships & Internships at Arundel High School thanks to the Arundel Grooming Project! Arundel HS proudly offers new internship opportunities for its students through the Arundel Grooming Project. Thanks to the generous support of Rob's Barbershop Community Foundation for installing the onsite barber and beauty salon at the school. The primary goal of this project is to increase access to grooming services for students who face barriers to regular hair care. Arundel HS student, Jaiden Martin, is one of the licensed barbers providing expert haircuts to fellow students! This initiative is made possible through the tireless efforts of Zsavelle Smack, the school's Internship Coach, and several administrators. Their dedication has been instrumental in making this project a reality. A heartfelt thank you goes to our community donors: EHI & Walmart Foundations, Wahl Professional USA, and the Wegmans Crofton Store.
