Participants learned how to complete the FAFSA and other college financial aid options, including financial aid for international families. Good evening, this message is to inform you about an incident after school today. A smoke smell was detected in one of the upstairs classrooms and, out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated the building. The fire department promptly responded, thoroughly inspected the building, and ensured it was safe for reentry. Everyone was safe during the process, and we appreciate the cooperation of students, staff and parents. We look forward to welcoming students back tomorrow at our usual start time of 7:40.

History was made today as, for the first time, all seven elected members of the Board of Education took their oaths of office to begin new four-year terms. McDermott (District 4), Dana Schallheim (District 5), Joanna Bache Tobin (District 6), and Dawn Pulliam (District 7). The Stanton Center, located at 92 West Washington St., Annapolis, MD, 21401, has already been activated for Monday, December 2, 2024 (tonight). The warming center will continue to open at the following times to provide emergency temporary warming relief to community members who need this service:
• Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 7:00 pm until Wednesday morning at 7:00 am
• Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 7:00 pm until Thursday morning at 7:00 am
• Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 7:00 pm until Friday morning at 7:00 am
• Friday, December 6, 2024, at 7:00 pm until Saturday morning at 7:00 am
• Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 7:00 pm until Sunday morning at 7:00 am
• Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 7:00 pm until Monday morning at 7:00 am
• Monday, December 9, 2024, at 7:00 pm until Tuesday morning at 7:00 am
Patrons who take advantage of this service must:
• Arrive for the initial screening process by 9:00 pm.
• Entry will be denied to those in possession of drugs, alcohol, and/or weapons.
• Smoking on the premises is prohibited.
• Exit the facility no later than 7:00 am the following day.
The Stanton Center is a temporary emergency warming center of last resort. If there is a need for general or long-term sheltering assistance, please contact the 24/7 Crisis Response warmline at 410-768-5522.
