Pam Klink, a 13-year teaching veteran at the Center of Applied Technology South (CAT South) has been named the National Teacher of the Year by Magnet Schools of America (MSA). The surprise announcement was made last night during MSA’s national conference in Nashville.
“Receiving this award from Magnet Schools of America is an incredible honor, but the true recognition belongs to my students,” Klink said. “Their passion, resilience, and curiosity are what inspire me every day. They are the reason I strive to be an educator who teaches with purpose.”
Affectionately and respectfully known as simply “Chef,” Klink has proven to be a master of two worlds: culinary precision and educational excellence. Inspired to share the joy that fueled her own culinary career, she joined CAT South to craft and cultivate an exemplary culinary arts program.
Her efforts are akin to passionately preparing an exquisite meal and have been noticed at the highest levels. The culinary program at CAT South is certified by the American Culinary Federation and Klink was previously a finalist for AACPS Teacher of the Year.
Klink was previously named the Region I winner of the award and represented educators from Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and the District of Columbia in competing for the national honor.
