Three Anne Arundel County Public Schools students will have earned spots in the 2025 Eastern Division Honor Music Ensembles, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their talents alongside some of the East Coast’s best musicians and vocalists.
The ensembles are presented on a bi-annual basis by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Competition for placement in one of the Eastern Division groups is intense, with applications received from over 2,000 students from across the Northeast.
The students selected for these ensembles are:
Cade Long, Broadneck High School Apex Arts, Commercial Band
Hadley Dodson, Broadneck High School Apex Arts, Mixed Chorus
Citlalli Garcia-Ramirez, Meade High School, Mixed Chorus
“Maryland is only given 5 percent of the student allocations for the Eastern Division Honor Ensembles, so it’s an incredible honor to have not just one but three students from our school system be selected to participate,” said AACPS Coordinator of Music Jessica Valadie. “We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work and dedication each one of these students has shown in order to achieve this prestigious accomplishment.”
The ensembles will rehearse in Hartford, Conn., from April 24-27, 2025, and will present concerts that are open to the public on Saturday, April 26, 2025, and Sunday April 27, 2025, at The Bushnell Performing Arts Center in Hartford.
