PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the Richard Henry Lee Elementary School homepage. Our school is located in the heart of old Glen Burnie, Maryland. One of 79 Elementary Schools in Anne Arundel County, Richard Henry Lee has been serving the Glen Burnie community since 1929.

As your new principal, I am thrilled to embark on this journey with you. This is my first year at RHLee, and I am excited to get to know our wonderful staff, students, and community. With 19 years of experience as an administrator, I am committed to fostering a supportive and enriching environment for everyone at RHLee.

At RHLee, we are dedicated to meeting our students' academic and social-emotional needs. Our mission is to support their growth and guide them towards becoming contributing members of our community. For the 2024-2025 school year, we will focus on enhancing our students' skills in Math and Reading. Equally important is our emphasis on consistent school attendance. Attendance is the foundation of all learning—students need to be present to fully engage and succeed in their education. You have to be here to learn!

Richard Henry Lee is proud to be an Early Childhood Professional Development School (PDS) in collaboration with Towson University. This partnership unites our school with student interns who are nearing the completion of their teaching degrees. This mutually beneficial relationship effectively reduces the student/teacher ratio for several of our classes while providing real-world experience for our interns.

Family and community engagement will continue to be a cornerstone of our approach. We believe that a strong partnership with families and the community is essential for our students' success. This year, we anticipate a change in enrollment due to redistricting and are excited to welcome over 400 students to RHLee.

As we embark on this new school year, let's embrace our theme: "Soaring to New Heights." Together, as RHLee Eagles, we will strive for excellence and create a nurturing, dynamic learning environment for all.

I look forward to an amazing year ahead!
