Old Mill Middle North students and staff will make a pledge and commitment to our school and its mission. In doing so, Patriot's will follow the following code of behavior:

Students who follow these guidelines are awarded with “Patriot Passports” which can be “spent” in a variety of ways. Each Wednesday during lunch, there is a “cart-o-fun” in the cafeteria where students can purchase needed school supplies. In addition, there are monthly events where students can “purchase” a ticket with their passports. 

Old Mill Middle School North is one of three schools located in the Old Mill Educational Complex in Millersville, Maryland. The complex, opened in 1976, also houses Old Mill Senior High School. Located on 60 acres of land in northern Anne Arundel County, the two schools share an auditorium and main lobby. Old Mill services three area elementary schools. Our enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is approximately 975 students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The school is one of six in Anne Arundel County which are fully authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Centrally located near Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Annapolis, Old Mill is ideally situated for the valuable opportunities open to its students in business, industry, and higher education. As the community surrounding the school has developed over the years, the Old Mill complex has grown accordingly into the largest educational complex in Anne Arundel County.

The surrounding communities serviced by the Old Mill Educational Complex are very diverse. Housing types include apartment complexes, some of which receive federal funding, farms, town house developments, and single-family homes ranging in value from $400,000 to $1,000,000. Approximately 90% of our students receive bus transportation, some from as far as eight miles away.

Students from Old Mill are fortunate to live in an area with so many benefits. Five of the fifteen county libraries are located within close proximity of the school. Students are also encouraged to utilize the nearby facilities of Anne Arundel Community College. Access to many of the state’s other libraries and facilities can be obtained through the Media Center at Old Mill via computer. The area offers many recreational opportunities as well. The county Recreation and Parks Department provides a wide variety of leisure time activities, from softball and swimming programs to ceramics and aerobics classes. Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is just one of the many local organizations promoting the fine arts. In addition, Baltimore and Washington offer many other cultural opportunities.

Old Mill is located just minutes from Annapolis, known today as the sailing capital of the world. Annapolis is home of the United States Naval Academy and the Maryland Statehouse – the oldest statehouse in the US still in legislative use. Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital, allows Old Mill students to explore our nation’s history through the Smithsonian Institute and various other monuments and national landmarks. Students can appreciate the nation’s democratic principles and experience the culture and excitement of the city. Baltimore offers yet another intriguing environment for students seeking enlightenment and adventure with the Maryland Science Center, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Baltimore Aquarium, the Inner Harbor and Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Baltimore is also home to Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland at Baltimore, Loyola College and the University of Baltimore– truly a vast array of educational opportunities.
