Mrs. Anderson - Reading Specialist
Hello! I am Terry Anderson, and I am the County Literacy Teacher. I collaborate with teachers in all grades, but my main focus is the primary levels (Pre-K to 2) to promote the learning and implementation of best practices in literacy instruction. I also work with children in small groups in and out of the classroom to develop stronger reading strategies and comprehension skills. I have been teaching for 32 years in AA Co with 20 of those years being a Literacy Teacher. I graduated from State University of NY with a BS in elementary education and furthered my studies by completing my master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University in Administration, Special & Gifted Education. My additional master’s certification in Literacy Education came from Goucher University-I like to see myself as a lifelong learner.
I live with my husband and three golden retrievers (Harley, Murphy and Juno) in Lothian, MD. My two children have grown up and moved on to jobs and lives of their own. My daughter Katie works for the National Park Foundation and my son Matthew works Environmental/Flood Control in Houston, Texas.
I enjoy many outdoor activities: hiking, kayaking, and biking. I also love reading a good book on the beach looking at the ocean. I am looking forward to an amazing school year!
Mrs. Platte - Title I Reading Specialist
My name is Jenna Platte. I have been teaching for ten years, and it’s my first year at Glen Burnie Park! I graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a track in Secondary Education. I also graduated from Goucher College with a Masters of Education/Reading Instruction. I live with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. Some of my hobbies include playing with my daughter, working out, and walking the dogs. I look forward to joining the Glen Burnie Park Elementary School team!

Mrs. Gulden - Title I Math Specialist
Hello! My name is Joanie Gulden and I am a Title I Math Teacher at GBPE! I collaborate with teachers and facilitate students to grow in math! I have spent 30 years in the Old Mill Cluster, 13 as a student myself and this is my 18th year as a teacher! This will be my 11th year at Glen Burnie Park! I played basketball and graduated from Frostburg State with a degree in Elementary Education. I also have a master’s from Towson in Mathematics Education and my Administration Certificate from McDaniel College. I live in Glen Burnie with my husband and our 7 ½ year old daughter Rylee. I enjoy running, working out, watching reality t.v. and baking! I miss all of your bright smiles and high fives and can’t wait to see you soon!
Mrs. Heinecke - Title I Math Specialist
Hi everyone! My name is Brooke Heinecke. This is my 9th year teaching and my first year at Glen Burnie Park as a Title 1 Math Teacher. I graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in Elementary Education, and graduated from Towson University with a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology. I live on the Eastern Shore with my husband, two sons (ages 2 and 4) and our two dogs. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, getting hooked on a good tv show, and going on walks. I look forward to meeting everyone and having an amazing school year at GBPE!

Mrs. Fromherz - Title I Interventionist
Hello! My name is Beth Fromherz and I have been teaching in AACPS for 16 years. This is my second year at Glen Burnie Park and cannot wait to meet everyone! I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with both my BS and MAT. I have also added Special Education (K-12) and ESOL (K-12) endorsements to my certificate. I live on a family farm with my husband, Chris, our children, Ella & William, 1 dog & 2 cats. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, gardening, and sports. I look forward to getting to know the staff, students & community and feel very grateful to be a part of GBPE!
Mrs. Burke - Early Interventionist (Reading)
My name is Kelly Burke. This is my ninth-year teaching, and it is my third year at Glen Burnie Park! I graduated from Salisbury University with a bachelors in Elementary Education. I am a Certified Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator and love working with students and teachers in reading. I live with my husband and two dogs, Remi and Bogey. Some of my hobbies are running, hiking, plants, and spending time at the beach. I am looking forward to an amazing school year!
