Hello! I am Terese Allender and I have been the County Literacy Teacher here at Glen Burnie Park for the last nine years and I have decided to return to the classroom as a third-grade teacher! I have been an elementary teacher for 29 years, I spent 20 years as a classroom teacher in grades first, second, fourth, and fifth and I am so excited to teach third grade this school year, especially since I already know all the students. I am an Anne Arundel County native and attended George Cromwell Elementary, Lindale Middle, and Andover High (now North County) schools. I graduated from Towson University with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, a Masters Degree from Loyola University as a Reading Specialist, Administration Certification at McDaniel College and recently completed LETRS training to further develop my knowledge and best practices about how children learn all aspects of literacy. I live with my husband, Derrick, two daughters, who are both recent college grads, Sydney and Brianna, and our dog Tucker. I love reading, hiking with Tucker, scuba diving and you can often find me on the local Pickleball court! I feel blessed to be a member of Glen Burnie Park Ohana!
