Visiting Our School

All visits to the school are by appointment only and are for necessary business only. All visitors MUST show a photo I.D. in order to enter the school.

SchoolKidz Supply Kits

The website for ordering school supplies for the 2025-2026 school year is now live and will remain so for the entire month of April and May. Kits will be shipped directly to your student’s home. The website to order is: www.shopttkits.com and our school code is: 87037.

Purchasing kits is completely voluntary and not mandatory for middle school. It’s simply a convenience that we like to provide for families.

A Night in the Trades - CAT South

Center of Applied Technology (CAT) South will be hosting "A Night in the Trades" event on Tuesday, April 8th, 5:30pm-7pm, where students can participate in hands-on experiences and watch skills demonstrations by teachers and current students. See flyer for details.

CMS "Got Talent" Show

The CMS Got Talent Show will be held on Thursday, April 10th at 6:30pm. The Talent Show is sponsored by the 8th grade CMS Tri-M music honor society chapter 9758. Auditions will be during Advisory class on March 26th. To audition, students must complete the google form. Tickets are $10 and can only be purchased through OSP here. Doors open at 6pm. You must show proof of your ticket order to enter.

The panoramic picture can be accessed within 5 days via this link: Legacy Studios Events or by going to events.legacystudios.com. Please use code 4681E25 to view the picture. 

All ordered packages will be delivered directly to the student's home.

Mental Health Awareness Family Fun Day

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health in partnership with the Center of Applied Technology North will host a mental health awareness family fun day on Saturday, May 10th, 10am-2pm. See flyer for details. (Spanish flyer and Korean flyer)

Hoops for Heart Fundraiser

On Thursday, May 29th, our school will be hosting a Hoops for Heart fundraising event to support the American Heart Association. This event is to raise awareness to promote a healthy lifestyle and to support heart healthy activities. Through the end of May, families can use this link  or the QR code below to make donations towards the Hoops for Heart Fundraiser. After the completion of the event, we will compile the donations from each grade level and announce the winning grade with the most donations after Memorial Day weekend. These students will earn an award the following week. Our goal for this year is to raise $2,000.

Pre-College Scholarships for current 7th graders

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is dedicated to advancing the education of exceptionally promising students who have financial need. Since 2000, the Foundation has awarded $304 million in scholarships to more than 3,400 students from 8th grade through graduate school, along with comprehensive academic advising, career pathway counseling and other support services. The Foundation has also provided $136 million in grants to organizations that serve such students. Please click this link for more information and how to apply for a scholarship. School Dress Code Reminders

As the weather starts to get warmer, please remember to review the dress code with your student. From page 23 of the 2024-2025 Student Handbook:

Students are Not Permitted to Wear:

  • Articles of clothing that promote drugs, alcohol, profanity, obscenity, violence, and symbols of hate;

  • Articles of clothing that promote gang colors, gang affiliation, gang initiation, or gang-related signs;

  • Clothing that shows bare skin between the upper chest and mid-thigh, including bare chest, back, or midriff, or underwear.

Students are to dress in clothes that promote a safe and respectful learning environment. Clothes that create a disruptive environment or cause a health or safety hazard, are not appropriate and not acceptable at school. School personnel will consistently and uniformly enforce this dress code.
