PTG

The Parent Teacher Group is a very active group at Central Special School. At present, we are comprised of a small group of parents, the principal, and any teachers or staff who wish to participate. All parents are invited to attend our meetings. There are no requirements for joining the Parent Teacher Group. The PTG organizes activities and events for families to have fun and socialize, organizes fundraisers to raise money for equipment, instructional materials and school improvement. We are also a communication link with the Board of Education concerning special education services and issues that affect our school. And lastly, we publish a school newsletter several times during the school year to keep our parents and staff apprised of important information.

The PTG is a great way to be involved at your child's school and make a difference to the quality of their education. Please check the school calendar for PTG meeting dates.   • Cash For Clothing Recycling Program

    • The Parent Teach Group (PTG) has a new fundraising program! It is a clothing recycling program. There is a big white bin located by the soccer field next to Central Special. All you have to do is place unwanted clothing and shoes in the bin. Stained and torn items are accepted.

                We accept the following textiles in all conditions:

      • All clothing

      • All Shoes

      • Accessories (Handbags, backpacks, etc.)

      • Bed Linens (Sheets, blanket, etc.)

      • Pillows

      • Towels

      • Toys (if made of cloth, NOT Plastic)

        We do NOT accept:

      • Items too large to fit in the opening of the bin

      • Furniture

      • Foam Cushions

      • Food

      • Hangers

      • Plastic Toys

      • Carpet
