Drop-Off & Pick-Up Safety
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Safety Procedures
A.M. (7:45–8:00 a.m.):
Staff will not be on duty before 7:45 a.m. If you arrive early, please pull all the way up to the first (red) cone in the drop-off area.
All students, parents, and guests should walk on the sidewalk and in designated coned areas, avoiding the blacktop where cars and buses drive.
Once on duty, staff will assist students and direct traffic. For everyone's safety, please follow their directions.
Remain in your car while in the drop-off line. If you need to walk your child in, please park in a designated parking space on the right side of the guest lot. Do not cross between cars.
Drivers do not need to help students out of the car when staff are present.
Stay to the right for arrival and do not pass cars in the left lane.
Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. must be signed in at the front office by an adult. Instruction starts promptly at 8:00 a.m., so please arrive on time.
*The upper parking lot is reserved for families of children with special needs, indicated by a green car tag.
P.M. (Dismissal begins at 2:25 p.m.):
Display your car tag to help staff quickly identify your vehicle. If you don’t have one, contact the office or your child's teacher.
Pull all the way up to minimize the line of cars on Brock Bridge Road.
Do not pass other cars unless directed by a staff member. Staff members are escorting students between vehicles, and pulling around cars without direction poses a safety risk to students and staff.
Students should wait until cars are fully stopped before approaching. Remind your child to wait, even if they see you.
Please treat staff and other visitors with respect. Avoid honking. Use kind and respectful language when communicating.
All staff are off duty or in professional development after 2:45 p.m., so ensure timely pickup.
Please keep in mind that our children are always watching us. Adults following rules and directions of staff sets an example for students. When adults do not follow the rules, they are demonstrating to students that they do not need to follow the rules, either.
**Please follow the rules**
