  • School Health

My name is Kim Pine and I am the School Nurse at Bodkin Elementary and Lake Shore Elementary.  Inez Hege is the Health Assistant, and she will be in the Health Room Monday through Friday 7:40 am to 2:25 pm. Please review the following information regarding medications and illnesses at school.

What if my child needs medicine at school?

Students are permitted to take medication at school ONLY when it is deemed absolutely necessary and only under the supervision of school health staff. A form titled, "Parent's Request to Administer Medication At School" must be on file for each medication. This includes over-the-counter medications.  This form is available from the health room or can be downloaded by clicking on the attachment below.

What if I need more information?

"A Parent's Guide to School Health" is full of good information on topics ranging from when to keep children home from school to packing easy, healthy lunches.  Please check out this excellent source of information.

Remember, the Health Room welcomes phone calls and visits from parents regarding any concerns for their children.  Please keep your school health team informed of pertinent information regarding your child's health needs.  We are here to assist you and your child.

Cell Phone Policy

Here at Bodkin, in alignment with AACPS policy, we expect students to keep phones and watches silent and in their lockers throughout the day.

If you need to communicate with your child, please call the main office. Students are permitted to come to the main office to use our office phone as needed.
