As you enter the home of the Dragons, you are met with laughter and smiling faces from both staff and students.  There is an overall family feel that embraces you in your first encounter.  Students are actively engaged in a variety of activities that promote collaboration and critical thinking, fostering the development of global citizens. 

Annapolis Middle School is an IB World School and one of two middle schools in Annapolis, Maryland. Founded in 1964 as Annapolis Junior High School, our school serves a vibrant and diverse student body that reflects our community's rich diversity.  At Annapolis Middle School, we are dedicated to supporting our students both academically and personally. Our committed staff members actively engage with students and families, providing assistance and fostering a sense of belonging.

Social contributions and responsibility are important to us. Through our PBIS program, we build positive relationships and encourage appropriate decision making. Students are celebrated for their positive contributions through incentives such as Dragon Games, school celebrations, and the use of Dragon Dollars. Students can use their Dragon Dollars to obtain specialty items or privileges in class and purchase items from our school store, The Dragon Den.  Our PBIS framework, along with the use of restorative practices, creates a positive school climate by increasing connections between all members of our school community. As Dragons, we show our commitment to success by being Safe, Open-minded, Accountable, and Respectful.
