Updates to YouTube

On March 31, 2020 YouTube changed their terms of service and privacy policy. According to their new terms, children 13 and under can no longer use the service.

Things to know:

  • Requests to have individual videos unblocked for elementary or middle school students will be sent to the appropriate content coordinator for approval.

  • Using a third party service such as SafeShare or SafeYouTube will still result in the video being blocked for elementary and middle school students.

  • When using Google meet, present your screen using the Chrome tab option so students can hear the sound. Troubleshooting videos in Google Meet.
