High School Mathematics is grounded in a growth mindset, where risk-taking, collaboration, and perseverance are encouraged. Each course reflects the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards and incorporates the Standards for Mathematical Practice. Through culturally responsive teaching and relevant applications, students learn to make sense of mathematics and make connections within and beyond the classroom. Students work closely with expressions that define functions and continue to model and reason as they solve real life problems. We foster environments in which students communicate their thinking using multiple methods and representations and learn to value mathematics as a tool for interacting with the world.

AACPS High School Mathematics courses are aligned with the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards from the Maryland State Department of Education.
