Board of Education
The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County consists of seven adult members and one student member. The adult members are elected in presidential election years and represent districts whose boundaries mirror those of County Council districts. The student member is elected by county students, appointed by the Governor, and serves a one-year term. The student member is the only student on a local school board in the nation who has full voting rights.
The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County meets in person in the Board Room of the Dr. Carol Sheffey Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis.
Unless otherwise specified, Board meetings are open to the public and subject to normal space limitations in the Board Room. Board meetings are broadcast live on AACPS-TV and on AACPS’ YouTube channel.
