    • Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association

      AFCEA is offering a $10,000 scholarship for seniors who plan to enter a science or engineering field of study supportive of national defense. Students should have a GPA of at least a 3.5 with a combined SAT verbal/math score of 1200. Deadline: December 19, 2009

    • National Association of Women Business Owners

      $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two female students in the state of Maryland. Applicants must demonstrate entrepreneurial talent and can apply on-line at http://nawbomaryland.org Deadline: March 12, 2010

    • Boston University

      Announces the 35th Annual Trustee Scholarship. Four- year, full tuition scholarship. For more information go to www.bu.edu/admissions/trustee Deadline: December 1, 2009

    • Emory & Washington University in St. Louis

      Above named school has Scholars Programs for academically talented students. To be nominated see Mr. Codd in Guidance. Deadlines: Emory- November 1st and Washington- October 15th 2009

    • National Commission for Cooperative Education

      170 renewable $6000 scholarships will be awarded by the National Commission. To be eligible for a merit co-op scholarship a student must apply and be accepted to one of the following schools: Drexel, Johnson & Wales, Kettering, Pace, RIT, Cincinnati, Toledo and Wentworth. Students can apply on-line at www.co-op.edu Deadline: February 15, 2010

    • A Tribute to Women of Color

      A tribute to Women of Color announces four categories of awards. They are The Pathfinder, Good Samaritan, Service to Youth and Future Leaders. Nominees are to be female African-American seniors who reside in Anne Arundel County. Deadline: December 1st, 2009

    • Chesapeake Bay Trust

      2010 Arthur Dorman Scholarship $5000 scholarship to an outstanding minority student in Maryland. Apply on-line at www.chesapeakebaytrust.org Deadline: November 20, 2009

    • Gates Millennium Scholars

      Scholarship program open to minority students. Must have a GPA of at least a 3.3. Financial need must be demonstrated. (Federal Pell Grant eligibility) Apply on-line at www.gmsp.org Deadline: January 11, 2010

    • NFIB

      2010 Young Entrepreneur Award Dreaming of owning you own business? Then apply on-line at www.NFIB.com/YEA Students may apply after October 31st.

    • Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

      $1,000 scholarships available to students who have made a difference with their volunteer work. Go online to fill out an application. www.spirit.prudential.com. Deadline: November 2, 2009

    • Federation for Individual Rights

      The Federation for Individual Rights announces its annual essay contest. Scholarships will range from $1000 to $5000. Deadline: November 6th, 2009

    • Random House

      "Oh, the Places You’ll Go!" college scholarship program. Essay contest. $5000 scholarship. Deadline: February 15, 2010

    • The Gallery Collection

      3rd annual Create-A-Holiday-Card Contest. $10,000 scholarship. Apply online at http://www.gallerycollection.com/greeting-cards-scholarship.htm

    • Horatio Alger Scholarship Program

      105 $20,000 scholarships will be awarded this year. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 with financial need. Students should be involved in community activities/service. Deadline: October 30, 2009

    • Suntrust

      $1000 scholarship for high school seniors. Eligibility not based on GPA or financial need. 15 chances to win with a winner chosen every two weeks from October to May. First winner chosen October 30th.
