Green Crew

Advisor - Mr. Agresti and Ms. Walmsley

The Green Crew Club is focused on creating change around GBHS related to environment concerns. Recycling, campus beautification and awareness are the three areas we work on improving our campus and environment. We meet twice a month for an hour and go on at least one field trip every year. Meet us in room M204.

In May 2009 Glen Burnie was awarded Green School Certification from MAEOE, The Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education.  Green School Certification acknowledges that GBHS is an environmentally conscientious school.  According to the website the goal of the certification process is to:

Recognize schools that use the school site, the community, and their curriculum and instruction to prepare students to understand and act on the current and future environmental challenges that face all citizens in the State of Maryland, and; to serve as a model for schools that wish to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Information on the Green School Certification can be found at http://www.maeoe.org/greenschools/
