Philosophy of GBHS:

In accordance with the principles of our democracy and our roles as public servants, we believe that it is our primary responsibility to offer a comprehensive educational program which provides for the intellectual as well as the physical, social, emotional, and aesthetic development of students whose abilities, backgrounds, and motivations vary.

Furthermore, we endorse the concept that the education of the young men and women who attend Glen Burnie High School is a joint endeavor whereby the administration, the faculty, the support staff, the parents and the students themselves share responsibility for creating and fostering an environment conducive to learning. Moreover, we recognize that the education of our students extends beyond the campus and is shared by the home, the church, and the community.

Ultimately, it is our aim to help students learn and to instill the desire to learn so that they might fulfill their potentials and goals, so that they might recognize and respect their own worth and the worth of others, and finally so that they might understand the responsibilities of freedom and become contributing members of society.
